Who is Farah Alessa?

Hi, I’m Farah Alessa, the artist and Founder of F_SKETCHES18.
What started as a love for painting slowly became something much bigger, a space where I could create, experiment, teach, and most importantly, share that feeling with other people.
I believe art doesn't have to be perfect, complicated, or intimidating. Sometimes, you just need a brush, a little color, and a space where you can forget about everything else for a while. 🤍
That's exactly what I try to create through F_SKETCHES18.
🎨 From painting to teaching
Over the years, I've turned my love for acrylic painting into creative workshops, welcoming people of different ages and experience levels to discover painting for themselves.
I've had the opportunity to teach 700+ people through my workshops, collaborations, private sessions, and creative events, and every person leaves with something a little different.
Some come already knowing how to paint.
Some tell me they've never held a paintbrush before.
And some come simply because they needed an afternoon to slow down and do something for themselves. That's my favorite part.
Watching someone who says "I can't paint" look at their finished canvas and realize:
"Wait... I actually made this." ✨
🖌️ What I teach
My workshops mainly focus on acrylic painting, with a strong emphasis on making the process approachable and enjoyable.
Rather than simply copying a finished painting, I teach the techniques behind it, things like:
blending • layering • color • texture • depth • composition • brushwork
I guide participants step by step, but I also encourage them to add their own personality to their work.
Because everyone's painting should look a little different.
And that's the point.
🌊 More than just workshops
F_SKETCHES18 has grown beyond painting classes.
I've created and sold original paintings, bookmarks, notebooks, notepads, and other handmade pieces, while also taking part in creative collaborations, events, and pop-ups.
I've hosted workshops in different settings, from cozy studio sessions to outdoor experiences, and I've loved experimenting with different themes and ways of bringing people together through art.
One of my favorite things about creating is that there is always another idea waiting around the corner.
A new painting.
A new workshop.
A new product.
The F_SKETCHES18 experience
For me, a workshop isn't just about leaving with a painting.
It's about the two or three hours you spend making it.
The music playing in the background.
The conversations around the table.
The coffee
The dessert
The paint on your apron
The moment everyone gets quiet because they're concentrating
And then that final moment when everyone steps back from their canvas and sees what they created.
That's what I want F_SKETCHES18 to feel like.
A little escape from everyday life, a place to create without pressure, and a reminder that you don't have to be an artist to make something beautiful.
🤍 What's next?
I'm still figuring that part out. And honestly, I like it that way.
F_SKETCHES18 is constantly evolving, from new workshops and creative experiences to original artwork, stationery, collaborations, and ideas I've probably already written down somewhere.
So if you've found your way here, welcome.
Pick up a brush, choose a color, make a mess, and let's see what happens.
